Just a while ago, I was reading an article about don’t compare yourself to celebrities. It’s a kind of mentality that some people do whatever it takes to look like their celebrity idols. Well, sometimes we cannot blame them because imitation is the highest flattery and they’re just getting some fashion tips for they can’t afford to pay the service of a designer.

If I were to ask, there’s nothing wrong with it… don’t just overdo it of course. Designer clothes are also costly so tailored clothes of the same look can be an answer to fashion and budget problem. I once had my own clothes in prom patterned from a fashion magazine. I bought my own cloth of preferred color and my dressmaker just did some alteration. I’m vertically challenged so instead of having it long skirt, she made it above the knee. I also had to add a belt from the same fabric to put more emphasis on my body curve. See, imitating is not always that bad.

One of the social decorum is wearing appropriate outfit for any occasions. Being overdressed can be preferable but there is always exception to the rule. Here are some clothing dos and don’ts. When clothes don’t seem to fit us anymore discard them or if you’re an advocate of goodwill, donate them. If you’re shopping for clothes always check if they are comfortable and you don’t get any bulges.

Don’t go for second hand clothes and thrift stores to find style and comfort. If you think you’re a little bit heavy, let go of skinny jeans. Also, don’t buy too small clothes and do the diet later or vice versa. It’s never a no-no to follow the trend but don’t always go for it for good investment. Lastly, if you’re not sure of which style would suit you well, tag someone for fashion advice. Remember, money doesn’t just grow on trees so better be clothed smart.
